To all CAV friends, colleagues, and all those interested in stopping family violence!

On behalf of our dedicated CAV Board of Directors, facilitators, and the many other volunteers who are helping us in 2010, I would like to welcome you to our new web site. You will notice that the logo has changed and that there are new and exciting tools for donors, the media, and most important of all, for those seeking help for family violence in their homes. We hope that the site will be the portal for your contacting us for help, to donate, or to offer your help as a volunteer.

From the six classes that we now hold throughout the Panhandle to our extensive community presentations, our goal is always to educate. This education takes the form of awareness, with the dual objectives of educating the abuser about abusive behavior to making the community aware of the causes of family violence—power and control issues. Through this education process, we believe that we are protecting scores of victims and children from the ravages of abuse: physical, emotional, and economic.

Echoing the voices of family anti-violence advocates throughout the country, we hope that this site brings you to a heightened awareness of what oppression and violence really is, that you will not be silent when you witness abuse, and that you will stand with us in support of our efforts to put us out of business—to make each home one that is violence-free.
